The firm was formed by two of Oregon's leading business lawyers, Moe Tonkon and Fred Torp. In 1974, Fred Torp and five other attorneys left Oregon's largest firm to join an outstanding three-person firm headed by Moe Tonkon. Thirty years later, Tonkon Torp is one of the leading firms in the region with almost 70 lawyers.
